Housekeeping
There came a time when it was necessary to wipe away all that cluttered his life. To polish once filthy floors, to dust the walls, and to string lights that focused their illumination on the things he clung to. He did this to rend the concealing curtain of his thoughts from top to bottom, and drag his secrets out into the light, face them, and then again wipe these away. To relax he might later fix himself a drink at the newly varnished bar. He rode the line between zen enlightenment and human frailty with ease, and he knew once a room is empty it is never long before it is filled again. The drink would help.
